This large family garden, in a Conservation Area, was completely redesigned in conjunction with major renovation works to the house. The terraces surrounding the house were enlarged and laid with York stone with brick details to tie in with the architecture of the house, with an east-facing morning terrace accessed directly from the kitchen for alfresco breakfasts next to the water feature with views over the Surrey Hills. A separate west-facing terrace with firepit provides space for evening drinks and entertaining with sunset views.

The existing swimming pool was renovated and a new Pool House with gym and plant room was built. The original tarmac drive to was removed and replaced with gravel edged with brick and lined with flowering trees and hydrangeas to soften the approach to the house.

A new kitchen garden with raised beds and fruit trees was created next to the new hard tennis court.

The rear terrace benefits from morning sun
The water feature on the rear terrace provides a focal point from the interior rooms.
Hydrangeas and ornamental pear trees line the brick-edged gravel drive creating a soft approach to the house.
The existing pool was relined and the terrace paved with generous York stone slabs to create a clean space.
The paving at the edge of the pool was hand cut on site to create a soft, pencil edge.

The crisp clean lines of the York stone paving are set off by the brick risers and low walls.
The water feature ripples gently from two submerged copper pipes. The herringbone brick at the bottom echoes the pattern of the interior floors.
